Come and spend an evening with us viewing kiwi in a truly unique setting. From the comfort of a hide you will encounter kiwi at eye level and observe them feeding amongst the leaf litter. As Kiwi Watch takes place outside of the normal visiting hours to the Kiwi House, bookings are essential. Per watch, Kiwi Watch is restricted to a minimum of two and a maximum of six persons plus the guide.
Kiwi can also be seen during the daytime at the Kiwi House. Viewing hours are between 09:00 and 16:50 daily, except Christmas Day, when we are closed.

Please wear quiet clothing (not leather or plastic) as noise upsets the birds. Visitors will need to allow around 1.5 - 2 hours for viewing. The Kiwi Watch is not suitable for small children. The main species of kiwi on display is the Northern Brown Kiwi, although visitors may also see the Great Spotted Kiwi and the Little Spotted Kiwi.
Kiwi Watch does not take place on Saturday evenings.
No flash cameras allowed. Video cameras with night light are
acceptable.
