POWER IT FORWARD
From THE KIWI HOUSE to Kiwi Homes.

Powered by Ōtorohanga Kiwi House in partnership with The Lines Company
A Community Energy Initiative Supporting Wildlife & Whānau.
Together with The Lines Company (TLC), we’re creating a sustainable future for the King Country by powering the Ōtorohanga Kiwi House with clean, renewable solar energy — and giving back to local families who need support.
Community members who donate will recieve:
-
Installation of one solar panel
-
Name recognition at the Kiwi House
-
A Family Pass to the Kiwi House as a thank you
-
Direct contribution to conservation, sustainability and community energy wellbeing
Powered by Community, Guided by Conservation
For more than 50 years, the Otorohanga Kiwi House has been a leader in wildlife conservation, education, and tourism. Every visitor helps protect native species and keep the doors open at a charitable trust that receives no government funding.
Power It Forward brings conservation and community together — using renewable energy to support wildlife care at the Kiwi House while helping local whānau experiencing energy hardship.

TLC + OKH: A Genuine Partnership Making a Real Impact
The Lines Company (TLC) and the Otorohanga Kiwi House are joining forces to bring solar energy to one of the King Country’s most treasured attractions. TLC is providing the solar panels as part of their commitment to energy wellbeing and kaitiakitanga. The Kiwi House provides the rooftops. And you help get the panels installed.
Solar That Gives Back — Triple the Impact
Powering Conservation
Solar energy reduces operating costs and keeps essential wildlife systems running — supporting kiwi, tuatara, geckos, wētā and more. It also strengthens our long-term sustainability goals, including our Living Building Challenge redevelopment.
Powering the Kiwi House
As a charitable trust, every saving matters. Solar helps us improve habitats, upgrade our facilities, and continue providing guaranteed kiwi viewing.
Powering Kiwi Homes
Excess solar energy becomes credits that TLC redistributes to families struggling with power bills — supporting energy wellbeing throughout the King Country.
Sponsor a Solar Panel Installation — $300
For just $300, you can sponsor the installation of a solar panel at the Otorohanga Kiwi House. TLC has supplied the panels — your support helps us get them on the roof.
Fully Sponsor a Building Installation — $5,000–$6,000
Key stakeholders, businesses, and community groups can fully fund the installation of an entire rooftop system, powering major areas of the park and accelerating our move towards sustainable operations.
Support Wildlife. Support Whānau. Support Community.
